**Chennai, December 20, 2024** – A Forest Guard from Tiruvannamalai was commended for his bravery in rescuing a stranded woman from the Arunachala Hills during the recent Maha Deepam festival. A. Rajesh, the guard, received a certificate of appreciation from the Head of Forest Force, Srinivas R. Reddy, at a monthly review meeting held at the Principal Chief Conservator’s Office in Guindy.
The woman, an Andhra Pradesh resident who had illegally climbed the mountain, became stranded and was unable to descend for two days. Rajesh, demonstrating remarkable courage, scaled the hill, carried the woman on his back, and safely brought her down.
