Fri Dec 20 14:03:11 UTC 2024: ## Mangaluru Police Net Two in Separate Online Fraud Cases Totaling ₹50 Lakh

**Mangaluru, Karnataka, December 20, 2024** – The Mangaluru Cybercrime, Economic Offences and Narcotics (CEN) Police have arrested two individuals for separate online fraud schemes totaling ₹50 lakh.

In the first case, 25-year-old Kanathala Vasudeva Reddy from Odisha was apprehended at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Reddy, who allegedly sold over 500 Indian SIM cards to cybercriminals in Dubai, is accused of defrauding a victim of ₹10 lakh. His arrest followed a tip from another suspect, Nadavulu Veera Venkata Sathyanarayana Raju, already in custody for a similar ₹10.84 lakh online fraud.

The second arrest involved 35-year-old P. Jayanth from Kozhikode, Kerala. Jayanth allegedly defrauded a victim of ₹40.65 lakh by luring them into online securities and stock investments. Police allege his bank account was involved in over 90 online fraud cases nationwide.

Both suspects were remanded to judicial custody after appearing before jurisdictional courts. The investigation was led by CEN Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravish S. Nayak and Inspector M.P. Satish.
