VIJAYAWADA, Andhra Pradesh – The Andhra Pradesh government launched the “Kreeda” app on Thursday, aiming to modernize the state’s sports sector and address long-standing issues of transparency and access. The app, unveiled by Sports Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, will serve as a centralized platform for athlete registration, data management, and competition information.
Minister Reddy stated that the app represents a significant step towards transforming Andhra Pradesh into a major sports hub, bridging the gap between sports and technology. He highlighted the app’s capabilities in identifying talent, analyzing athlete data, and ensuring fair administration. He also criticized the previous government for neglecting the sports sector.
A. Ravi Naidu, chairman of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP), praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision for the initiative and emphasized the app’s role in combating the use of fraudulent certificates, a long-standing problem within the state’s sports system.
P.S. Girisha, SAAP managing director, announced that Andhra Pradesh is the first state in India to issue digital certificates to athletes via the app, storing them securely in DigiLocker for easy access. The app is free for all athletes and sports associations, providing information on upcoming competitions and a platform for addressing public grievances. The launch event was attended by SAAP officials and athletes from across the state.
