Thu Dec 19 16:03:43 UTC 2024: ## CM Revanth Reddy Inaugurates Hyderabad Book Fair After Decade-Long Absence
**Hyderabad, December 19, 2024** – Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the 37th Hyderabad Book Fair at NTR Stadium on Thursday, marking his first attendance at the event in a decade. The fair, featuring 350 stalls showcasing a diverse range of books, including rare and used titles, will run until December 29th.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Reddy addressed what he called a “distortion” of the history of the Telangana movement, stating that those who fought for the state’s formation have been overshadowed by those who later gained political power. He highlighted the contributions of key figures like Suravaram Pratap Reddy, Kaloji, Dasarathi, Ande Sri, Guda Anjaiah, and Gaddar, emphasizing the importance of recognizing the sacrifices made during the armed peasant struggles. The CM pledged the state government’s support for promoting a reading culture and ensuring the accurate representation of Telangana’s history. This year’s fair notably includes a stall from the state library for the first time.
