**NEW DELHI, December 19, 2024** – Kia India launched its fifth SUV for the Indian market, the Syros, a compact SUV positioned between the Seltos and Sonet models. Targeting a premium audience, the Syros aims to boost Kia’s market share in India’s rapidly growing SUV segment.

Bookings open January 3rd, with deliveries expected in early February. Pricing details are yet to be revealed. The Syros will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant boasts a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine (118 bhp, 172 Nm torque), paired with a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The diesel option features a 1.5-litre engine (116 bhp, 250 Nm torque), available with a six-speed manual or six-speed torque converter automatic.

Feature highlights include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, rear sunshade, ambient lighting, rear AC vents, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and connected car features. Safety is prioritized with Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, ESC, Hill Start Assist, six airbags, and disc brakes on all four wheels.

Hardeep S. Brar, Kia India’s senior vice president and head of marketing and sales, expressed confidence that the Syros will help Kia increase its market share from 15% to 20% in the low SUV, mid-SUV, and mid-multipurpose vehicle segments. Brar also predicted 5-10% growth in the overall car sales market next year, contingent on factors such as monsoon season and the recovery of the IT sector following recent layoffs.
