**Mysuru, December 19, 2024** – A two-day holiday has been declared for all schools and colleges in Mandya district on December 20th and 21st to allow participation in the Kannada Sahitya Sammelna, a significant literary event. The Sammelna, taking place in the district for the first time in 30 years, concludes on December 22nd, which is already a public holiday.
Deputy Commissioner Kumara issued the order, stating the closure is necessary to enable students and teachers to participate in the festivities. The decision also accommodates the use of school and college facilities for housing guests and delegates attending the event. The holiday applies to all primary, high, and PU colleges, including both aided and unaided institutions.
