**New Delhi, December 18** – The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has released the final answer key for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024, paving the way for the impending release of results. The key, published at iimcat.ac.in, remained unchanged after a review of objections submitted earlier this month.

Nearly 2.93 lakh candidates sat for the November 24th exam, comprising 1.07 lakh female, 1.86 lakh male, and 5 transgender candidates. Experts predict a higher cut-off this year due to assessments indicating the exam was easier than in previous years.

Candidates can access their scorecards shortly using their registration number and password on the official website. The scorecards will be based on the final answer key, which saw no changes despite 405 objections. The CAT score will be used by IIMs and 91 other participating institutions for admissions to postgraduate management programs.

The scoring system awards 3 marks for each correct answer, with a penalty of -1 mark for incorrect answers. Unattempted questions receive no marks.

Last year’s results showed a dominance of engineering graduates among top scorers, a trend that may continue this year. IIM Sambalpur announced it will independently conduct its MBA admissions process for the 2025-2026 academic year.
