**Bangalore, India (December 19, 2023)** – The much-awaited Kannada film “UI,” directed by and starring the renowned actor Upendra, is set to release worldwide tomorrow, December 20th, in over 4,000 screens. The film, released in five languages including Kannada, marks Upendra’s directorial return after nine years, generating significant buzz and anticipation among audiences.
Pre-booking for the film has already begun and is reportedly almost completely sold out, according to co-producer Naveen Manohar. The first show is scheduled for 6 AM on December 20th.
“UI” boasts several unique aspects, including the innovative use of modern technology and a distinctive filming technique. The entire film was shot at night, employing a “night for day” concept – a rare approach in filmmaking, and a first for Sandalwood. Typically, night scenes are either filmed at night or during the day with night effects added.
The film is produced by Lahari Films and Venus Entertainments, with G. Manoharan and K.P. Shreekant as producers and Naveen Manohar as co-producer. Tulasiram Naidu (Lahari Velu), G. Ramesh, G. Anand Chandru Manohan, and Nagendra serve as executive producers. Rishma Nanaiah stars opposite Upendra, with music composed by Ajaneesh Loknath. K.V.N. Productions is handling the distribution.
