Tue Dec 17 15:57:19 UTC 2024: ## Rain Washes Out Zimbabwe-Afghanistan ODI
**Harare, Zimbabwe -** The first One Day International (ODI) between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan in Harare was abandoned due to rain on Tuesday. After a rain delay pushed the match to a 28-over-a-side contest, Zimbabwe’s innings was cut short at 44 for 5 in 9.2 overs. Azmatullah Omarzai spearheaded Afghanistan’s bowling attack, claiming four wickets, with AM Ghazanfar taking the other. Craig Ervine and Sikandar Raza were unbeaten when the persistent rain forced the players off the field. An hour later, the match was officially called off. The ODI series will continue on Thursday and Saturday, followed by a two-match Test series commencing December 26th. This washout comes after Afghanistan’s 2-1 T20I series victory over Zimbabwe.
