**Chennai, December 17, 2024** – Egmore Police made a significant drug bust on Monday, arresting a man and a woman and seizing a substantial quantity of narcotics. A joint police operation intercepted a car on Gandhi-Irwin Road at 3:40 am following a tip-off. The occupants, identified as M. Balasubramanian (39) of Perambur and Fathima Begum (24) of Guwahati, Assam, were found to be in possession of 700 grams of methamphetamine and 6.5 kilograms of ganja, concealed within the vehicle. Three mobile phones and a car were also confiscated. Balasubramanian has a prior drug-related conviction, and further investigations are underway.
