**Hyderabad, India (December 17, 2024)** – Telangana’s Irrigation, Food, and Civil Supplies Minister, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to establishing Hyderabad as a leading global center for Artificial Intelligence (AI). Speaking at the curtain-raiser for the 1st ISF Global AI Summit and International Junicorns Startup Festival at IIIT-Hyderabad on Monday, Minister Reddy emphasized the state’s proactive measures to leverage AI for inclusive growth and innovation.

Reddy acknowledged both the immense potential and the inherent challenges of AI, highlighting its transformative power across various sectors including healthcare, education, and manufacturing. He also addressed concerns regarding job displacement and ethical considerations.

The Minister detailed Telangana’s strategic initiatives, such as the ambitious AI City project and the creation of a Skills University, designed to cultivate a highly skilled workforce and foster collaboration between industry and academia. He stressed the need for ethical AI development and urged collaborative efforts between governments, businesses, and educational institutions to establish robust ethical frameworks.

The International Startup Foundation concurrently announced the 1st Global AI Summit and International Junicorns Startup Festival, to be held in Dallas, USA, from May 28th to 30th, 2025.
