**Kozhikode, December 17, 2024** – A joint inspection team has submitted its final report to Palakkad District Collector S. Chithra outlining an action plan to address the frequent road accidents at Panayampadam near Kalladikkode. The report follows the recent tragic death of four girls at the location.
The team, comprised of officials from the Road Transport Authority, police, and Public Works Department (PWD), proposed a range of solutions following a site inspection. Immediate measures, including speed control and increased police surveillance, have already been implemented.
The PWD has also submitted a proposal for the installation of warning boards and reflectors, along with improvements to road surface traction. While local residents and representatives had advocated for road straightening, the report focuses on these more immediately achievable safety improvements. The PWD’s proposals are expected to be implemented shortly.
