**Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu** – Basha (75), a convict in the 1998 Coimbatore bomb blasts case, passed away this evening. Basha had been serving his sentence in Coimbatore Central Prison. He was granted bail in April due to ill health and was admitted to a private hospital in Coimbatore. His condition deteriorated today, and he was moved to his home in Ukkadam, where he passed away shortly after, according to family members.
The February 14, 1998, bombings resulted in over 50 deaths and more than 200 injuries. Basha was among several individuals arrested and convicted for their involvement in the attacks.
