SONBHADRA, UP: A woman in Sonbhadra district was brutally assaulted by her husband and his lover, along with several others. The incident took place near the Vaishno Devi temple in the Chopan police station area.
Anita Devi, a resident of Renukut, discovered her husband was having an affair with a fellow dancer from the orchestra group where he works. When she confronted him, her husband and his lover, along with six others, attacked her. The group chased and beat Anita severely, causing serious injuries.
Local residents intervened and rescued her from the attackers. Police arrived at the scene after receiving a call and are now investigating. Anita is receiving treatment for her injuries at the Chopan CSC hospital. She alleges her husband also took out a loan of ₹6 lakhs in her name.
Police have yet to release a statement on the arrests or actions taken against the accused. The investigation is ongoing.
