Fri Dec 13 23:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss Announces He’s a Cancer Survivor

**MINNEAPOLIS, MN** – Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Randy Moss revealed Friday that he recently underwent surgery for bile duct cancer and is now undergoing further treatment. In an Instagram Live session, Moss disclosed that he had a six-hour Whipple procedure six days prior to remove a cancerous tumor located near his bile duct, between his pancreas and liver. The surgery followed a Thanksgiving procedure to insert a stent in his liver after he experienced discolored urine.

Moss, who appeared in good spirits despite moving slowly, stated he will now undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatments. He attributed his early diagnosis to his liver acting up, urging others to undergo regular health screenings. “By the grace of God, my liver started acting up,” Moss said.

The former NFL star, currently on an extended leave from ESPN, expressed his intention to return to his broadcasting role. “My goal is to get back on that television with my team,” he stated. He is also using his platform to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, with proceeds from merchandise sales on his personal website going directly to the cause.

Moss’s announcement has garnered widespread support, with fans and colleagues wishing him well in his recovery. His courageous disclosure serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of early detection and regular health checkups.
