**Hyderabad, December 14, 2024** – Rachakonda police have intensified their search for Mohan Babu following an assault on a journalist. Police have already collected technical evidence and are pursuing further action based on instructions from senior officers.
Reports circulating on social media claim that Mohan Babu is on the run, with five special police teams deployed to locate him. News reports indicate that police visited Babu’s residence in Jalpally, but he was not present. While initial reports suggested police were searching his home, the Pahadi Sharif police later clarified that the investigation is ongoing and details will be released after completion of the inquiry.
Meanwhile, Mohan Babu has issued an apology on X (formerly Twitter) and in a letter to the injured journalist, Ranjit, expressing remorse for the incident. He explained that the assault occurred amidst a chaotic situation involving approximately 50 people at his home and that media representatives were unintentionally present. He stated that he deeply regrets the injury sustained by the journalist and wishes him a speedy recovery.
Ranjit is currently receiving treatment at Yashoda Hospital after undergoing surgery for injuries to his eye and ear. Doctors implanted a steel plate to repair a zygomatic bone fracture. His condition is reportedly stable. The investigation into the assault continues.
