Fri Dec 13 07:18:50 UTC 2024: ## YouTuber Gaurav Taneja Faces Copyright Injunction from Castrol India

**Mumbai, December 13, 2024** – Popular YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, known as “Flying Beast,” has been temporarily barred by the Bombay High Court from using content related to Castrol India Ltd.’s zero-gravity flight campaign. The court issued the injunction following a copyright infringement lawsuit filed by Castrol.

The case centers around Taneja’s participation in Castrol’s “Castronomy” campaign in April 2024, where he and other influencers experienced a zero-gravity flight. While Taneja filmed the experience under Castrol’s direction, he subsequently uploaded two videos to his YouTube channel without crediting Castrol or promoting the campaign. Castrol alleges that these videos contained significant portions of footage provided to Taneja as part of the campaign agreement.

Further complicating matters, Castrol claims Taneja demanded INR 30 lakh (approximately $360,000 USD) for the provided footage and finished content, despite failing to deliver the agreed-upon deliverables. Despite repeated requests and even a INR 5 lakh offer from Castrol’s agency to remove the unauthorized videos, Taneja refused to comply.

The Bombay High Court sided with Castrol, stating that the company would suffer irreparable harm if the injunction wasn’t granted. The court ordered Taneja to remove the two videos, and prohibited him and his associates from using any footage or content related to the Castrol campaign on any platform. The temporary injunction remains in effect pending further legal proceedings.
