**Wayanad, Kerala, December 13, 2024** – Kerala’s Minister for Local Self-Government, M.B. Rajesh, has pledged to expedite the resettlement process for families affected by the recent devastating landslide in Wayanad. Addressing a gathering in Meppadi on Thursday, he inaugurated a comprehensive micro-plan designed to aid the recovery of 1,084 families (4,636 individuals) impacted by the disaster.

The plan, developed by the District Kudumbashree Mission in collaboration with the district administration, focuses on six key areas: health, nutrition, education, livelihoods, skill development, and mental and social protection. Minister Rajesh emphasized the plan’s family-centered approach, meticulously assessing each family’s needs and incorporating proposed solutions with associated costs and timelines. He highlighted the collaborative effort involving local institutions, Kudumbashree (a poverty eradication program), public movements, and the government.

The Minister assured that all necessary procedures, including land acquisition, would be promptly addressed. He touted the micro-plan as a model for future disaster relief efforts, praising its timely development and focus on poverty alleviation through various employment projects. Tribal Minister O.R. Kelu also attended the event. The initiative aims to ensure the effective resettlement of landslide survivors at the grassroots level, offering hope for a swift and comprehensive recovery.
