HYDERABAD, INDIA – Telugu actor Mohan Babu has issued a public apology to a journalist injured during a tense altercation at his residence on Tuesday. The incident occurred after a family dispute involving Manchu Manoj escalated, leading to a confrontation at the gate of Mohan Babu’s Jalpally home.
According to reports, Manoj and his wife arrived at Mohan Babu’s house following a meeting with the Telangana Additional DGP. When security personnel prevented them from entering, a heated argument ensued, resulting in Manoj forcing his way into the property. Journalists covering the event also entered the premises.
In the ensuing chaos, Mohan Babu reacted angrily, allegedly causing injuries to a journalist. While initially silent, Mohan Babu subsequently released a statement on X (formerly Twitter) and sent a formal letter to the media outlet, expressing deep regret and offering a sincere apology for the incident. He attributed his reaction to the large number of people who forcefully entered his home and stated that the journalist’s injury was unintentional. He also explained that a 48-hour hospital stay due to illness prevented an immediate response.
Mohan Babu emphasized the incident stemmed from a personal family matter that unfortunately escalated, causing distress to the injured journalist and his family. He expressed his remorse and wished the journalist a speedy recovery. Police are reportedly investigating the incident.
