Fri Dec 13 09:17:15 UTC 2024: ## Bengaluru Police Investigate AI Engineer’s Suicide, Former CJI Comments on Complexity of Case
**Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh & Bengaluru, Karnataka:** The suicide of Atul Subhash, an artificial intelligence engineer, continues to unfold, with a Bengaluru police team arriving in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, to investigate. The family of his wife, Nikita Singhania, has reportedly gone missing, leaving their home empty and phones switched off. Local police have launched a search, issuing a notice to the family to cooperate with the investigation. A neighbor stated the family arrived in Jaunpur only two months ago. Police Inspector Mithilesh Kumar Mishra reported that Singhania’s mother and son left their home late Wednesday night, claiming the mother was ill.
Meanwhile, former Chief Justice of India (CJI) D.Y. Chandrachud commented on the case during the India Economic Conclave 2024. He emphasized the difficulty of determining the truth amidst conflicting accounts from a suicide note and the wife’s complaint. Chandrachud highlighted the complexities of personal relationships, particularly marital disputes, noting that conflicts often occur not between right and wrong, but between different interpretations of right and wrong. He expressed doubt in the judicial system’s ability to effectively handle such familial issues. The former CJI stressed the lack of clarity surrounding the events leading to Subhash’s death.
