**Hyderabad, India** – Popular Telugu actor Allu Arjun has been arrested by Hyderabad Police in connection with the death of a woman during a stampede at a screening of his film, *Pushpa 2: The Rule*. The incident occurred on December 4th at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, where a large crowd gathered to see the actor. Revathi, a 35-year-old woman, died in the stampede, and her nine-year-old son was hospitalized due to asphyxiation.
Police from the Chikkadpally station took Allu Arjun into custody from his Jubilee Hills residence. He is being questioned regarding the incident. A case has been filed against the actor, his security team, and the theatre management under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on a complaint by Revathi’s family.
This arrest comes just days after a second fan, 35-year-old Harijana Madhannappa, died at a separate *Pushpa 2* screening in Rayadurgam. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, which occurred on Monday.
Allu Arjun had preemptively filed a plea with the Telangana High Court on Wednesday to quash the FIR against him and to stay all further proceedings, including his arrest. The High Court is expected to hear the matter soon. The actor had previously offered ₹25 lakh (approximately $300,000 USD) in financial assistance to the family of the deceased woman.
