**New Delhi, December 13, 2024** – Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) subscribers may soon be able to access their funds through ATMs, according to a top official. Union Labour Secretary Sumita Dawra reportedly stated that the ministry is upgrading IT infrastructure to enable this service. The proposed system would allow claimants to withdraw up to 50% of their Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) balance via ATM. Furthermore, heirs of deceased subscribers could also access settled Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI) claims, capped at ₹7 lakh, through ATMs. While the report originated from a media source, the Labour Ministry has yet to officially confirm these developments.
