Fri Dec 13 08:43:10 UTC 2024: **Mumbai Cruises to Victory Over Baroda in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Semi-Final**

Bangalore, India – Ajinkya Rahane’s blistering 50 off just 28 balls spearheaded Mumbai’s resounding victory over Baroda in the first semi-final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. Rahane’s stellar innings, coupled with a solid 46 from captain Shreyas Iyer, propelled Mumbai to a comfortable chase of Baroda’s 158/7.

Mumbai, winning the toss and electing to field, restricted Baroda to 158 runs, despite a fighting effort from the Pandya brothers. Hardik Pandya’s brief stay at the crease yielded only 5 runs before he was dismissed, and captain Krunal Pandya contributed 30. Mumbai’s bowlers were impressive, taking wickets at regular intervals.

In reply, Mumbai’s chase was largely dominated by Rahane’s explosive batting. He anchored the innings with a stunning half-century, sharing an impressive partnership with Iyer. Although Iyer fell short of his half-century by four runs, Mumbai’s chase was never in doubt.

Mumbai reached the target with ease, booking their place in the final. The second semi-final between Delhi and Madhya Pradesh is scheduled for later today.
