**Bengaluru, India (December 11, 2024)** – Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) launched the Sustainability Garage, a new initiative focused on promoting sustainable mobility solutions. Partnering with the Prayoga Institute of Education Research, the state-of-the-art facility will serve as a hub for multidisciplinary research into eco-friendly materials.

The program involves collaboration with six Karnataka universities, providing specialized course materials for over 150 students. MBRDI’s Managing Director and CEO, Manu Saale, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability across all aspects of its operations, from material analysis to digital engineering processes. He highlighted the importance of fostering an ecosystem that nurtures innovation and embraces circular economy principles.

The launch also coincided with the announcement of MBRDI’s accident research findings, which showed a 95% uninjured survival rate for belted front seat occupants in Indian accidents, underscoring the importance of passive safety systems. Mercedes-Benz has been actively promoting road safety awareness in India through its SAFE ROADS India initiative for the past decade.
