Wed Dec 11 16:11:20 UTC 2024: ## Telangana BRS Leader Urges Rahul Gandhi to Curb CM’s Actions

**Hyderabad, December 11, 2024** – K.T. Rama Rao, working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has written to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, urging him to intervene in Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s actions regarding renaming and removing statues. Rao accuses Reddy of prioritizing symbolic changes over improving the lives of the people.

In a strongly worded letter, Rao criticized the Congress government’s failure to fulfill its election promises, citing unmet pledges on crop loan waivers and the Rythu Bandhu/Bharosa farmer support scheme. He highlighted the discrepancy between promised funding and actual disbursement, particularly concerning the crop loan waiver.

Rao questioned whether Congress would tolerate the removal of statues of Rajiv and Indira Gandhi if the situation were reversed. He warned against insulting Telangana’s culture and accused the Congress high command of prioritizing funding from state governments over the welfare of its constituents.

The BRS leader further threatened to remove statues of Rajiv Gandhi and ‘Congress Talli’ and rename institutions named after Congress leaders if the BRS returns to power. The letter underscores growing political tensions in Telangana ahead of future elections.
