**Chamrajnagar, Karnataka:** S. Jayanna, former MLA of Kollegal constituency and chairman of the Karnataka State Warehousing Corporation, passed away at noon today due to a heart attack in Kollegal. He was unmarried and a close confidante of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Jayanna served as the MLA for Kollegal twice – once in 1994 under the Janata Dal (Secular) and again from 2013 to 2018 under the Indian National Congress. He was currently serving as the chairman of the State Warehousing Corporation. Just last Saturday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited Kollegal and unveiled the nameplate of Jayanna’s new residence. A housewarming ceremony was held on December 12th.
