**CHENNAI, December 9, 2024** – Puducherry Deputy Speaker P. Rajavelu has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai after falling ill. Mr. Rajavelu, who had been experiencing a high fever and swollen legs for the past three days, was initially taken to Puducherry Government Hospital on Saturday. His office reports that doctors believe his illness stems from an infection contracted while visiting flood-affected areas in his Nettapakkam constituency. He was subsequently transferred to a Chennai hospital for further treatment.
