**Kolkata, December 9, 2024** – Three people died in a crude bomb explosion at a house in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district on Sunday night. The incident occurred in the Khairtala area of Sagarpara police station. Mamun Mollah, Sakirul Sarkar, and Mustakin Seikh were killed when the bombs, reportedly being assembled inside the house, detonated, collapsing the roof. Police have deployed a large contingent to the site. Murshidabad has seen a history of political violence and bomb-related deaths.
In a separate incident, Trinamool Congress gram panchayat member Nuruddin Halder was murdered in South 24 Parganas district on Sunday evening while on his way to prayers. He was attacked by a group of unidentified assailants in Daulatpur village.
