**Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh:** A 55-year-old school principal, Surendra Kumar Saxena, was shot dead in the bathroom of Dhamora Government Higher Secondary School today. The alleged perpetrator, a 12th-grade student with a history of disciplinary issues, reportedly followed Mr. Saxena into the bathroom and shot him in the head.
The gunshot triggered panic at the school, with staff discovering the principal’s body in a pool of blood. The accused student, along with a second student, fled the scene on Mr. Saxena’s motorcycle. CCTV footage captured their escape. Superintendent of Police Agam Jain confirmed both students, residents of Dhilapur village, have a history of indiscipline.
Mr. Saxena’s family suspects foul play, alleging he faced undue pressure and harassment from certain individuals at the school, suggesting the murder was premeditated. Rajendra Saxena, the deceased’s brother, stated, “Some individuals at the school were pressuring him unnecessarily and harassing him to carry out wrongful acts. This murder appears to be part of a planned conspiracy.”
Police have launched an investigation and forensic teams are at the scene. The accused students remain at large.
