**COLOMBO, SRI LANKA** – Thirteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi starred in India’s dominant seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the U19 Asia Cup semi-final, securing their place in the final. The youngest-ever IPL signing, drafted by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.1 crore, Suryavanshi blasted a breathtaking 67 runs off just 36 balls, including six towering sixes and six boundaries.
India’s bowlers set the stage for the victory, restricting Sri Lanka to a modest 173 runs in 47 overs. Chetan Sharma took three wickets, while Kiran Chormale and Ayush Mhatre each claimed two.
Suryavanshi’s explosive innings, which included a half-century in just 24 balls, was the highlight. He particularly targeted Dulnith Sigera, smashing three sixes and two fours in a single over. India’s aggressive start, scoring 45 runs in the first two overs, set the tone for a comprehensive win in just 23.2 overs.
