**CUPERTINO, CA** – Apple CEO Tim Cook has once again sidestepped questions about his eventual retirement, offering no firm timeline for stepping down from his leadership role at the tech giant. In a recent interview with Wired, the 64-year-old Cook, who has helmed Apple since 2011, stated he will remain CEO until he feels the time is right.
“I get asked that question now more than I used to,” Cook admitted. “I love this place. It’s a privilege of a lifetime to be here. And I’ll do it until the voice in my head says, ‘It’s time,’ and then I’ll go and focus on what the next chapter looks like.”
Cook, who joined Apple in 1998, reflected on his nearly three-decade tenure, acknowledging the profound impact the company has had on his life, both personally and professionally. He described leaving Apple as a difficult prospect, stating, “It’s hard to imagine life without Apple because my life has been wrapped up in this company…It’s the overwhelming majority of my adult life. And so I love it.”
Cook’s leadership has overseen Apple’s expansion into new product categories, including the Apple Watch and AirPods, alongside a focus on sustainability, privacy, and health technology. Before joining Apple, he held senior positions at IBM and Compaq. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Auburn University and an MBA from Duke University. His accomplishments have earned him numerous accolades, including recognition in Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people. While the tech world awaits his eventual departure, Cook’s commitment to Apple remains unwavering, at least for the foreseeable future.
