Hyderabad, India – Burra Venkatesham, the newly appointed chairman of the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), has vowed to restore public trust in the commission. Addressing the media after assuming charge at the commission’s office in Nampally, Venkatesham stated his commitment to making the recruitment process faster, more transparent, and to regularly release job notifications.

Venkatesham, who hails from a humble background in Janagama district, achieved the feat of becoming an IAS officer despite his humble beginnings. He explained that he relinquished his 3.5-year IAS service to take up the TGPSC chairmanship, driven by a desire to serve the unemployed youth of Telangana. He urged applicants to have faith in the commission and participate in the examinations.

Venkatesham’s background includes a degree in BA from Ambedkar College, Hyderabad, and an LLB from Osmania University. His notable career includes serving as the Medak Collector, earning recognition for his work with a social accountability award. He also served on the AP Reorganisation Committee. His ultimate goal is to ensure fair and efficient recruitment processes for the benefit of the state’s aspiring civil servants.
