Wed Dec 04 07:40:00 UTC 2024: ## SNL Stars’ Decommissioned Ferry Finds Unexpected Use as Horror Film Set

**New York, NY** – Pete Davidson and Colin Jost’s $280,000 purchase of a decommissioned Staten Island ferry, renamed “Titanic II,” has taken an unexpected turn. Initially envisioned as a live entertainment venue, the vessel, which has been criticized by locals as an eyesore, recently served as the primary filming location for the independent horror film, “Screamboat.”

While the ferry hosted a Tommy Hilfiger fashion show earlier this year, its latest role is arguably more in line with its somewhat haphazard acquisition. According to TMZ, the production of “Screamboat” – inspired by Steamboat Willie entering the public domain – involved extensive filming on the ferry, resulting in a significant amount of fake blood requiring professional cleaning.

The film’s director, Steven LaMorte, reportedly pursued using the ferry as a location, obtaining permission from Davidson and Jost’s representatives. While the comedians were not directly involved in the production, the unexpected use of their unusual purchase has generated renewed interest in the “Titanic II’s” fate. The film’s teaser trailer suggests some scenes were also shot on land.

The news follows previous speculation regarding the ferry’s future, including Colin Jost’s 2023 prediction that people would soon be clamoring for tickets. While that hasn’t quite materialized, the “Screamboat” production suggests a more pragmatic, if unconventional, path to utilizing the vessel. The future of “Titanic II,” and whether it lives up to its initial ambitions, remains to be seen.
