Wed Dec 04 14:58:43 UTC 2024: ## Dindigul Minister Distributes ₹77 Lakh in Aid to Differently-Abled Individuals
**Dindigul, Tamil Nadu – December 4, 2024** – Minister for Rural Development I. Periyasamy today distributed welfare assistance worth ₹77 lakh to 712 differently-abled individuals in Dindigul, celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The aid, allocated based on needs identified during special district administration camps, included a wide range of assistive devices.
The distribution included eight motorized tricycles, 21 battery-operated wheelchairs, 30 tricycles, 86 foldable wheelchairs, 14 crutches, 104 elbow crutches, 53 crutches, 17 rollator walkers, eight special wheelchairs for cerebral palsy patients, seven ADL kits, 206 hearing aids, nine smartphones, 328 educational aids for children with special needs, 63 prosthetic legs, and 12 prosthetic hands.
Dindigul Collector M. N. Poongodi and Vedasandur MLA S. Gandhirajan were among those present at the event. Minister Periyasamy emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the differently-abled community.
