**KOCHI, December 3, 2024** – The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) will issue an advisory to pilgrims visiting the Malikappuram temple in Sabarimala, urging them to discontinue certain practices. Following a Kerala High Court directive, the TDB sought and received a written opinion from the Sabarimala temple’s Tantri (chief priest), confirming that throwing clothes on the temple roof, pouring turmeric powder on its walls, and rolling coconuts are not traditional rituals. The court, hearing a suo motu case on crowd management at Sabarimala, ordered the TDB to obtain the Tantri’s written opinion before taking action. The board will now implement measures to prevent these practices.
