**Thiruvananthapuram, December 3, 2024** – The 29th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), running from December 13th to 20th, will spotlight Armenian cinema. Seven critically acclaimed films will be showcased, offering a glimpse into the country’s rich cultural heritage and socio-political landscape.

The selection includes a diverse range of films tackling themes of war, displacement, resistance, identity, and cultural resilience. Among the featured films is *Amerikatsi*, shortlisted for the Oscars, which explores identity and resilience in Soviet-era Armenia. Other notable selections include *Gate to Heaven*, which examines human connection amidst war, and *Should the Wind Drop*, the Armenian entry for the 94th Academy Awards. The lineup also features psychological dramas and poetic reflections on memory and loss.

According to the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, the films collectively represent Armenian cinema’s exploration of anti-colonialism and social struggles. The festival promises to be a compelling journey through Armenian storytelling and cinematic artistry.
