Tue Dec 03 15:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Haris Rauf Becomes Pakistan’s Leading T20I Wicket-Taker

**ISLAMABAD** – Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has etched his name in the history books, becoming the country’s highest wicket-taker in T20I cricket. Rauf achieved this milestone during Pakistan’s 57-run victory over Zimbabwe in the first T20I of their series. He claimed 2 wickets for 17 runs in 3 overs.

Although Pakistan won convincingly, posting 165/4 before bowling out Zimbabwe for 108 in 15.3 overs, Rauf’s performance was particularly significant. His two wickets propelled his career T20I tally to 109, surpassing Shadab Khan (107 wickets) as Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker in the format. He now sits ahead of other Pakistani greats like Shaheen Afridi (97 wickets) and Shahid Afridi (98 wickets).

While Rauf’s achievement is remarkable, he still trails the overall T20I wicket-taking leader, Tim Southee of New Zealand (164 wickets). Rashid Khan (152 wickets) and Shakib Al Hasan (152 wickets) occupy the second and third positions globally. In comparison, Yuzvendra Chahal leads India’s T20I wicket-takers with 96 wickets.
