**Madurai, December 3, 2024** – The water level in the Mullaperiyar dam currently stands at 119.85 feet, below the maximum permissible level of 142 feet, according to the latest report. Inflow to the dam is recorded at 864 cusecs, while the discharge stands at 755 cusecs. The Vaigai dam’s water level is at 54.46 feet (maximum 71 feet), with an inflow of 499 cusecs and a significantly higher discharge of 2,849 cusecs. The combined storage in Periyar credit is 4,023.83 mcft. Light rainfall was reported in several areas in the past 24 hours, with Viraganur recording the highest rainfall at 10.4 mm.
