Tue Dec 03 01:10:00 UTC 2024: ## Jodhpur to Experience Delayed Winter Chill, Say Meteorologists

**Jodhpur, Rajasthan:** Residents of Jodhpur are experiencing an unusually delayed onset of winter this year. Meteorologists attribute the lack of significant cold weather to the absence of active Western Disturbances over Rajasthan and northern India during the first three weeks of December.

According to the weather department, the first week of December will see no active Western Disturbances, resulting in minimal cloud cover and snowfall in northern India. Temperatures in Jodhpur will remain near average, with minimal chill. This trend is expected to continue into the second week, with a weak Western Disturbance having little impact on Rajasthan’s temperatures.

While a more active Western Disturbance is predicted for the third week, leading to increased snowfall in northern India, the impact on Jodhpur’s temperatures will be gradual. A noticeable drop in temperature is only anticipated in the fourth week of December, as northerly winds follow increased snowfall in the north.

The city’s minimum temperature typically reaches 9°C by the end of November. However, this year it has remained above 12°C. The weather department forecasts that while the first three weeks of December will experience only a slight temperature decrease, a more significant drop and the onset of typical winter chill is expected only in the final ten days of the month. Overall, Jodhpur is predicted to experience a milder winter than average this year.
