Fri Nov 29 20:00:25 UTC 2024: ## Kochi Police Bust Drug Ring, Seize MDMA and Ganja

**KOCHI, November 30, 2024** – Kochi City police have launched a crackdown on drug trafficking, arresting five individuals, including one woman, and seizing approximately 10 grams of MDMA and 5.5 kilograms of ganja in four separate operations across different police station jurisdictions.

The arrests were made under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Among those arrested are Jayesh (36) from Kannur, apprehended with 1.53 grams of MDMA in Vytilla; Lins Isaac (31) and Tasni C.T. (26), both from Kannur and Mattancherry respectively, who were found with 3.34 kg of ganja in Palarivattom; and Pintu Sheikh Mandal (31) from Murshidabad, West Bengal, arrested near Container Road with an additional 2.05 kg of ganja. Shabeek (31) of Nettoor was also taken into custody in Panamppilly Nagar with 7.61 grams of MDMA.

The successful operations highlight a continued effort by Kochi City Police to combat the illegal drug trade within the city. Further investigations are underway.
