**Mumbai, November 21, 2024** – The counting of votes for the Maharashtra Assembly elections is underway, with initial trends indicating a close contest between the ruling Mahayuti alliance (BJP, Shiv Sena, NCP) and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (Congress, Shiv Sena-UBT, NCP-Sharad Pawar). Voting took place on November 20th, with a 65.11% turnout, exceeding the 2019 figures.

Early trends show a tight race across various constituencies. While BJP’s Kamble Sunil is ahead in Pune Cantt based on postal ballot counts, Yugendra Pawar is leading in Baramati, and Congress is ahead in Gondia.
