**AKOLA, MAHARASHTRA –** The upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, scheduled for November 20th, with vote counting on November 23rd, are heating up in the Akot constituency. This crucial seat, part of the Akola Lok Sabha constituency, boasts a population of approximately 92,637 (2011 Census) and an average literacy rate of 70.8%.

The 2019 election saw a BJP victory, with Prakash Gunwantrao Bharsakale securing the seat. He is once again contesting for the BJP, this time as the Mahayuti (grand alliance) candidate. However, he faces a strong challenge from several key contenders.

This year’s election sees a diverse field of candidates, including Gangane Mahesh Sudhakarrao representing the Congress and the Maha Vikas Agadhi (MVA) alliance.
