Wed Nov 20 23:30:00 UTC 2024: **YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Criticizes TDP Government’s Economic Performance Based on Budget Data**
Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh – YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and Andhra Pradesh Assembly Opposition Leader, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, launched a scathing attack on the TDP government’s economic policies, citing data from the budget and financial survey presented by the TDP government in the Assembly. Reddy argued that the figures reveal the YSRCP government’s superior economic management, claiming lower debt and higher industrial growth during their tenure compared to the TDP’s.
Reddy highlighted that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Andhra Pradesh achieved an average industrial growth rate of 12.61% under the YSRCP government, surpassing the TDP’s average of 11.92%. He further pointed out that the debt growth rate was lower under the YSRCP (15.61%) than under the TDP (19.54%).
He accused the current TDP government of failing to deliver on its promises, specifically citing the lack of funding for key welfare schemes under the “Super Six” initiative and irregularities in the implementation of the “Deepa” scheme. He criticized the government’s handling of gas cylinder subsidies and inconsistencies between the statements of the finance and civil supplies ministers. Reddy also alleged delays in the Mega DSC and questioned the allocation of funds for the NTR Vaidya Arogya Seva scheme.
Reddy further criticized the TDP government’s policies, accusing them of increasing electricity charges and imposing toll taxes under the guise of development. He also referred to comments made by Pawan Kalyan regarding missing women, adding his own criticism of alleged corruption amongst MLAs and sub-standard liquor sales. He concluded by highlighting the lack of PRCs for employees, pending DA payments, and the lack of new IRs.
