Wed Nov 20 23:30:00 UTC 2024: **YS Jagan Accuses Chandrababu Naidu of Exploiting Family for Political Gain**
**Amaravati, November 20, 2024** – YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a scathing attack on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of using his mother, Vijayalakshmi, and sister, Sharmila, for political advantage. In a press conference at his Tadepalli residence, Jagan questioned Naidu’s use of his family’s name in political discourse.
Jagan challenged Naidu to reveal whether he had ever publicly acknowledged or provided for his own parents. He also questioned Naidu’s past support for false propaganda spread by TDP MLA and actor Nandamuri Balakrishna against Sharmila. The YSRCP leader admitted to family disagreements but countered that Naidu also has a family, implying hypocrisy.
Jagan further accused Naidu’s government of employing police forces unjustly, citing instances of fabricated cases against YSRCP members. He alleged that a team of retired police officers – RP Thakur, AB Venkateswara Rao, and Yoganand – are working under Naidu’s direction to collect information on YSRCP leaders and utilize it for vindictive action against them, including illegal detentions, physical assault, and the use of third-degree methods. The creation of fake social media accounts by TDP leaders to spread false narratives was also highlighted. The filing of false cases against individuals like former MP Nandigama Suresh and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma were cited as examples of such misuse.
Responding to Pawan Kalyan’s claim that Naidu will remain Chief Minister for another decade, Jagan retorted that a Chief Minister’s tenure depends entirely on public support. He criticized Naidu’s claims about the state’s financial health, labeling them as lies and questioning the rationale behind not referring to Naidu as “Bomkula Babu” (Liar Babu). Jagan also refuted claims made by Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Purandeswari regarding the state’s debt, asserting that the figures presented were inflated. He also criticized the TDP government’s handling of electricity costs and employment opportunities.
Political analysts have commented that Jagan’s accusations are largely self-reflective, highlighting the inconsistencies and unsubstantiated claims within his own statements. The press conference also covered the delayed payment of salaries to volunteers and the lack of job creation.
