**Panaji, Goa – November 21, 2024** – India’s public broadcaster, Prasar Bharati, launched its new over-the-top (OTT) platform, “Waves,” yesterday. The app offers a wide range of content, including live television channels, extensive archives from Doordarshan and Aakashvani, news, games, films, and an e-commerce facility linked to the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).

Currently, Waves features approximately 40 live channels, encompassing popular entertainment options from broadcasters such as B4U, ABZY, SAB Group, and 9X Media, along with prominent news channels like India Today, News Nation, Republic, ABP News, News24, and NDTV India.

Prasar Bharati chairman Navneet Kumar Sehgal emphasized the app’s commitment to providing “clean and family entertainment.” He highlighted the accessibility of the broadcaster’s vast archives, allowing users to revisit classic shows. The integration with ONDC also facilitates convenient online shopping directly through the app.
