Kozhikode, [Date]: Renowned Malayalam actor Meghnath (60) passed away today at a private hospital in Kozhikode following a respiratory illness. The son of veteran actors Balan K. Nair and Sharada Nair, Meghnath had a prolific career spanning over four decades.

He acted in over fifty films and numerous television serials, starting his career in 1983 with P.N. Menon’s “Astram.” Initially known for his villainous roles, he later transitioned to character roles. Some of his notable films include “Chengkol,” “Ee Puzhayum Kadannu,” “Oru Maravathoor Kanavu,” and “Chandranu Dikkunnu Dikkil.” His last appearance was in the musical short film, “Kadalolam.”

Meghnath completed his primary education in Chennai and earned a diploma in Automobile Engineering from Coimbatore before entering the film industry.

His funeral will be held at his home in Shornur. He is survived by his wife Susmitha and daughter Parvathy.
