**Kozhikode, Kerala:** Veteran Malayalam actor Meghnath passed away unexpectedly this morning at a private hospital in Kozhikode following a respiratory illness. The news has shocked the film industry, with colleagues and friends expressing their grief.

Meghnath, son of renowned actor Balan K. Nair, began his career in 1983 with the film “Astram.” He went on to star in numerous films, including “Panchagni,” “Chengkol,” “Ee Puzhayum Kadannu,” “Uttaman,” and “Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum,” often portraying villainous roles. His work extended to television serials and Tamil films as well.

Veteran actors like Kottayam Nazeer expressed their shock and sorrow, reminiscing about Meghnath’s impactful performances. Nazeer fondly recalled wishing to emulate Meghnath’s role in “Ee Puzhayum Kadannu.” Senior CPM leader A.K.
