**Lucknow, India** – The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has released the results for its highly anticipated recruitment drive. Over 5 million candidates competed for 60,244 positions, with 174,316 candidates clearing the written examination and advancing to the physical test phase.
The cutoff marks varied significantly across categories. General category candidates saw cutoffs of 214 for men and 203 for women. SC category cutoffs were 178 for men and 169 for women, while ST category cutoffs were 146 and 136 respectively. Surprisingly, the EWS category cutoff (187 for men, 180 for women) fell below that of the OBC category (198 for men, 189 for women).
The written examination, originally scheduled for February, was re-conducted in August after a paper leak. The five-day exam consisted of 150 questions, each worth two marks, with a negative marking system deducting 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
Candidates who successfully cleared the written exam will participate in physical tests, including running, at their nearest zonal headquarters. Men must complete a 4.8km run in 25 minutes, while women must complete a 2.4km run in 14 minutes. This will be followed by document verification. If fewer candidates than available vacancies pass the physical and document verification stages, additional candidates will be selected based on merit.
The physical and document verification process is scheduled for the third week of December, with specific dates and locations to be announced on the UPPRPB official website (https://uppbpb.gov.in/). The final results will be published on the website upon completion of the recruitment process.
