**Lucknow, [Date of Publication]:** The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) on Thursday released the results of the constable recruitment examination held from August 23 to 31. A total of 174,316 candidates have been shortlisted for the physical efficiency test (PET) out of the nearly 2 million who applied for 60,244 constable positions.

The examination, conducted in 10 shifts over five days, was a re-examination after the original paper was leaked earlier in the year. The cutoff marks varied across categories. For the general category, the cutoff was 214 for men and 203 for women. The cutoff for other categories were: SC men – 178, SC women – 169; ST men – 146, ST women – 136; OBC men – 198, OBC women – 189; EWS men – 187, and EWS women – 180. Notably, the EWS cutoff fell below that of the OBC category this year.

According to UPPRPB Chairman, DG Rajiv Krishna, verification of documents for shortlisted candidates will begin in the third week of December. This information will be available on the board’s website (uppbpb.gov.in). Those who clear the physical standards test will be called for the PET in the third week of January at zonal headquarters near their respective districts. The board has shortlisted three times the number of vacancies for the PET.
