**Hyderabad, November 16, 2024** – The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Telangana and the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) are exploring collaborative opportunities to drive innovation in India’s agriculture and food processing sectors. A panel discussion held Friday at ICRISAT brought together government officials, industry leaders, and ICRISAT scientists to discuss potential partnerships.
ICRISAT’s interim Director General, Stanford Blade, highlighted the synergistic potential of combining ICRISAT’s research expertise with CII’s industry network. CII-Telangana chairman Sai Prasad formally invited ICRISAT to join CII’s Food and Agriculture panel. The discussion also included presentations from Telangana’s Department of Agriculture Secretary M. Raghunandan Rao and Bharat Biotech’s Krishna Ella, who addressed challenges faced by farmers and potential solutions. Following the panel discussion, CII delegates participated in a study tour of ICRISAT’s facilities.
